Oktoberfest at Beethoven Maennerchor: A Taste of Germany Near Fort Sam Houston

October 2, 2015

Whether you're a Germanophile or a beer enthusiast, you'll find something to love about Oktoberfest, taking place Oct. 2, Oct. 3, Oct. 9, and Oct 10 at Beethoven Maennerchor. This non-profit, volunteer German singing society serves to "preserve German song, music, and language," and that's exactly what you'll find during the organization's annual Oktoberfest!

The outdoor event promises the sights, sounds, smells, and flavors of German culture, from food and beer to dancing and live music. Arrive hungry so that you can get your fill of traditional German cuisine, including Reubens, brats, potato salad, goulash, and sauerkraut, and wash it all down with — what else? — a German brew!

Want to attend, Fort Sam Houston? Tickets to Oktoberfest will be available for purchase at the door and cost $5.
